Can MSC provide extension cords? Both my husband and I use a CPAP machine and I'm guessing whoever sleeps the furthest from the plug will need one.

We have done a west to east from the Caribbean to Europe plus East to West and back again. No problem at all, the issues being raised are minor and were of little consequence and I am not a great traveller. Our first one was a 25 years old ship, the latter was 18 months old and again there were no problems on any of them.

At 70 this seems a no go for me. I’m in good health but seem to find chasing lizards and snakes around Florida amusing. I realize I do talk to myself way too much and love weed. Thanks for your evaluation

We’ve been on several HAL cruises and always loved them the best because they weren’t real crowded and they didn’t party all night, etc. but the last cruise we went on with them yes it was in February 2022 I think was the year right after all the ships started cruising again after Covid.but the service was awful! I have never been on an HAL cruise with terrible service before. I may not have had an awesome service everywhere but this was just terrible everywhere. And I really hate it because now I just don’t wanna go on another one.

My husband and I used to go on a cruise every single year. We got married in 2005 but our very first cruise was in 2004. We’ve been on at least 20 cruises as we do go on some last-minute ones. I never ever knew that you could use your AMEX gold or AMEX points in general to book on virgin cruises. I’m so excited because I’ve looked at those and they are very expensive. We had actually decided not to cruise anymore and so I honestly haven’t even watched your videos on this channel because I just wasn’t really interested in cruising. We’ve just been kind of burned out on cruising. But I am a long-term watcher of your Travel Channel and especially your finest channel and was bored so I turned it on to see what three cards would be good for cruising. I am so glad I did because like I said, I did not know AMEX points could be used for a cruise and I definitely did not know about the platinum credit. You can get on cruises! I do have one question though. Last year my husband and I both got American Express gold cards when the sign-up bonus was 90,000. Now we don’t really use either one of them every month except for the Uber and GrubHub credits just to help pay back that expensive annual fee. Honestly, I didn’t even know about the Grubhub part until just a few months ago so I feel kind of dumb about that. However, my question is is do you feel like we should keep both accounts open or close one to save that $250 annual fee and then just add , whichever one we close our name as an authorized user on the first card so that we actually do have two cards for one account and we can still get the 4X groceries and restaurants and whatever or do you think there’s enough benefits to keep both accounts open? i.e. both paying the annual fee? Honestly, I never used GrubHub or Uber before these cards so it’s not a big deal to keep that part as I only use them because I want to help pay me back for that annual fee. Just not sure if I can justify renewing both accounts.

In the cons dept, how many times do you run into con artists and pick pockets? Have you thought of bringing your own starlink terminal and parking it is the flower pot on the balcony? (Or a collapsible base, anchored by water filled heavyweight bags.)

Our last Carnival experience was like a floating day care! Mega ships are not our jam so no RC, again too many kids! Those 2 would not be our top. Agree with Princess however with Virgin (Never been on them) they seem like a weird cruise line how they do things and when we price them out they typically fall into the luxury category pricing so we shop them against Regent, Silver Sea, and Seaborn and they always end up 4th. Best at Sea: Silver Sea. Man Over Board: Carnival Bang for the buck: Princess

I don't see how NCL "nickel and dimes" more than any other. Never felt pressure to attend any sales pitch at all. Really no different than RC.

I’ve been on 2 cruises, Disney and Royal Caribbean. I have 3 kids an older teen and 2 younger under 12. The younger children loved Disney, they did not care for the Royal Caribbean kids club, thankfully they had lots of other activities for them to do, water slides, wall climbing and such. That being said, I enjoyed Disney more because we had more kid free time since they never wanted to leave the kids club. It was 100% worth it for us because of the kids. My older son however, loved Royal Caribbean, he said the teen club had games and activities that were for older kids like himself. Disney was definitely an unforgettable experience for my kids, they had fireworks on pirate night and the shows are absolutely amazing! But the price is just way too high. I think it’s 1 and done for us, but we’ll see. I also liked the food better on Disney and the service was also so much better than on Royal. I think we’ll try carnival next.

I just got off the NCL Jade and while service was excellent for the most part, it felt like I was trapped on an 11 night timeshare presentation with all the hard selling. I got more voicemails in 11 days than I've gotten on my work phone in 11 months. It's like the Ryanair of the sea unfortunately. It used to be my parents' favourite.

agree 100% about NCL!!!! They were my first and favorite for years but sadly have become the worst! They cut SO many things- entertainment, food/specialty dining, services, but totally jacked up the prices sky high. Last cruise i did with them, the staff all looked overworked and depressed and it was hard to even find a bartender or whoever you needed to serve you. it was right after they were bragging about their record profits for yr but had also just reduced cabin services and staff so that cabin stewards have to do more with less staff. terrible.

Hey you guys put together a great video. Interesting remarks not just 'hating' on MSC. We have been on the MSC Divina on a 7 night, 8 day cruise. Personally we loved the cruise, ship, food, etc., but they are definitely 'different' than other more western-based cruise lines. We are leaving Friday on our second MSC cruise aboard the Magnifica. I'm seeing a lot of varying opinions/videos on the Magnifica...so we'll see how all those comments stack up.

You are on point with HAL in regards to entertainment and their older ships (you wouldn’t know they are old tho because they keep them up so well) but their great itineraries, food and service more than make up for it!

Your viewpoint of DCL is so wrong. I have cruised Carnival and NCL and there is no comparison. The service is outstanding!! I love the fact that my service team stays with us through the cruise and the fact that I don't have to pay for unlimited sodas, juice or water. The quick service food is a fabulous way to eat on the ship at various times through the cruise!! It truly is all inclusive except for those premium services and experiences! I am sorry but DCL is the BEST in the industry!!

We will be using this as our way back to the states for the Holidays this year. Your review helped us make the decision

They are coming to Jacksonville in November. I have never sailed Norwegian. I'm platinum on Carnival and receive great deals. I'm curious about prices on Norwegian. I do want to try them if they aren't overpriced.

Funny that I choose flights to Europe with sunlight in mind too. Always sit on the right side. It gets the sunset & sunrise heading east, but it’s shaded side for the full day flight heading west.

It's actually tips you pay, not taxes. But compare it to another cruise line with a drink package and it's still cheaper. PS. If you don't want the drink package, you can decline it.

You are very wrong about HAL. It’s our favorite cruise line especially for the itineraries they have. What is bad is Cunard and their QM2. Just got off from QM2 and was such a huge disappointment.

Our stateroom steward in cabin 8399 told us there was no chair for the desk. I have seen ottomans in every video for balcony staterooms

Hi love your videos. I chose the cabana balcony based upon your video of the Terrazza cabana. Just returned two weeks ago and there is an attendant in the lounge area dedicated to checking and monitoring the area. It’s normally the same attendant so they recognize guests after that. I loved the cabana cabin and the perks that came with it. Will definitely choose this type of balcony again.

I totally disagree regarding HAL. They have everything a cruise should have and none of the garbage. If I want an amusement park, that’s where I’ll go.

Hi folks, can you bring your own Starlink receiver? The service is about $100/month, but you need access to the sky. A cabin with a balcony might be a fix for that, but then there is the added expense of that type of room. Other than the internet issue, I'm thinking hard about doing this.

I must be out of touch but decorations for a house doesn’t even make my list of concern when it comes to cost of living. We’ve got a few pieces in the loft and we bring them down each year, problem solved. Not compelled to keep up appearances and compete with the neighbours, maybe the US is like that but not in the UK in the area I live in.

When it comes to staying,on land, my hotel choice is the Ritz Carlton. Why haven’t seen any good reviewers about their new cruise line. I am kind of a big stickler when it comes to customer service. I wonder why some people like it other people don’t. If you know of any good reviewers that has a video up, could you please let me know. A big thanks 😊

I disagree with you on HAL but you are spot on with NCL.

MSC is not great, but Carnival is the pits. We sailed out of New Orleans 10 years ago, but the main problem was the clientele, with country music howling out of ghetto blaster all day.

In my youth I was "musical director" and "jazz pianist" on cruise ships. It was fun for about 6 months. Like you said, it gets old quick. I'm surprised you didn't speak of cruise ships rituals, "safety drills" , line ups and so on. It still makes me cringe. And depending on the cabin you get, it can feel like the walls are closing in on you. I met my wife after I did my cruising gigs and told her I never want to be on a ship again hehe. So she's never been. But I was interested in your experiment. I love yachts, super yachts and boating, but just not cruise ships. I couldn't do it. Thanks for sharing your experiment. I found it interesting.
